Porchy porch with grown-up float bar

Porch party, Cheers!
I’ve said it before, we throw a party on the first Friday of the month to send our friends off to Cheers! St. Helena.

This week, we worried about throwing Nora Lea a second birthday.
Should we invite kids? Does the budget this week include gift bags?
(Uh, not quite.)

Well, let’s just mush these two parties together and make it a good time for everyone.

We decided to serve a Grown Up Float Bar. For our snack, we served sliced pound cake with vanilla bean whipped cream and strawberries. Sweet evening.

First make a shopping list.
Shopping list.

Then shop. It will take you less time than you think it will.
Float bar. Cream soda, root beer, ginger ale.

We took an old console table outside and set up cups and straws and napkins. Guests served themselves.

Zaya Rum, Bulleit Bourbon, Godiva chocolate liqueur, Coffee Patron.

Of course, the booze is optional.

Celebratory banner.

We hung the fabric banners I’d sewed for Nora Lea’s meet the baby party. We tied balloons to babies. And around babies.

Celebrating to celebrate.

Make it easy!

Fabric Banners look fantastic on the porch! What a great “going – green” idea. Love the little ones about to have a party too. MLJ
