Find a pigeon

Back in 2002, I wrote the following post:

My favorite piece of graffiti is written in very small letters on a garage door around the corner from my house. It says,

Find a pigeon
Pick it up
All day long
You’ll have good luck.

Birdswarm

Man, I loved that graffiti.

These days, I find good luck omens in other places.

Other things I find that I consider good luck (besides pigeons):
Men who look like Kenny Rogers
Shopping carts more than two miles from grocery stores
Elmo diapers (compared to Ernie or Cookie Monster)
Closed pistachios
Gas tanks over half full
Bachelorette parties
Religious leaflets
Strawberry jelly packets
Feathers
Toilet paper folded into a triangle

Oprah says that luck is when preparation meets opportunity.
These omens have nothing to do with either.
They’re just odd little things I think will bring good fortune.

What do YOU find that you consider good luck?

Feathers for me as well. Also the number 17. These are different from the superstitions however -but they really only show up in Vegas. 😉

Doubles in general are lucky, especially when it comes to food. Like when two Cheez-Its or Cheerios or jellybeans stay stuck together.
