Hi everybody! I made some news!
I took a jobby job.

But Helen Jane, you’re an entrepreneur!
Truth is, the paperwork is killing me. Save for the events I’m running (still work!) I work every minute I’m not with the kids and it’s getting to be too much. I haven’t developed the necessary strong boundaries and frankly, I need a break.

Ha! Break!
Heh. Even a rad job like this will have fewer hours than I’m working now.

This August, I’ll be working full time with the professionals over at Federated Media shaping how publishers and brands work together in this brave new internet. It’s a great opportunity. And I’m excited to actually work with this community, this network that I love.

And since my commute includes a peaceful chunk of ferry time, this web site will get updated a little more often too.

Change is good.
Let’s shake it up.

Joanie Loves Bocce

P.S. We won our second game against the Hone Dogs last night. I love these Joanies. They’re fun people.

That’s amazing news! Congratulations. Truthfully, I found that freelancing was an all-consuming thing and that it was hard to stop working. Three years ago I got an office job and I LOVE IT. I come to work in the morning, I leave at 5 PM and when I am not at work I AM NOT WORKING. There’s a real freedom in that!

Congratulations! Big fan of FM and completely understand how hard it is to segregate work and kid time when they’re in the same location.

Congratulations on your new job! Love the idea of having time to blog while commuting. I always liked the idea of taking the bus or train or ferry so that I could read! In this modern age, one can BLOG?! It boggles the mind and is such fun. Good luck!
