Brokey. Tablecloths.

Puppy.Have you ever gone shopping for a new tablecloth?
I guess unless you were a food stylist, there’s no reason really to get more than one or two.
And that’s good, because they can get pretty pricey.

That’s why I get mine at thrift stores.
Sometimes they’re stained and you need to make a good look at them to see if they’re dye-appropriate.
If they are, you can have a good as new tablecloth for the ages.

Cheese Table

Another option is to use less fabric and make table runners.
You can just fold the cut edges under the fabric and iron.
No one will be any the wiser.

Brokey. Popcorn.

Bets and BeerIngredients
1/4 cup popcorn kernels
1/4 tsp sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
1 brown lunch bag

Directions
Put the 1/4 cup popcorn kernels in the bag and turn the bag top over two or three 1/2 inch turns. Tear a tiny tear in the top of the bag. Put it in your microwave on the “popcorn” setting or for 3 to four minutes.

When the kernels stop or slow, remove the popcorn from the microwave and put in a bowl. I sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar, douse in 1/4 cup melted butter and sprinkle again with 1 teaspoon fine sea salt.

Popcorn microwaved this way costs less than pennies per serving and isn’t filled with all those creepy chemicals that the other microwave popcorn is.
(Shudder.)

Brokey. Cheap wine.

It’s no secret, I’m a fan of wine. I’m a master of the lower end of the spectrum. I’ve been drinking the stuff since I legally could.

Never mind, when I was back in that apartment with Hilary in the early naughts, unemployed and figuring it out.
