1. My daughter’s resemblance to her Auntie Clare.

2. Auntie Clare is soon to be my daughter’s Godmother.

3. Figuring out what Godmother means to us. And if there’s no blood of Christ or inherent Evil, we’re okay with that.

4. Hearing the priest tell us, “We believe children are born with inherent spirituality. Our job is just to give them a way to express that spirituality.”

5. The look people give me when I tell them that we’re pregnant. It’s certainly not the gleeful look that we got with Nora Lea, they’re worried for me. They’re worried for us. I take that to mean that they care.

2. The doctor giving me a prescription for my 20 week ultrasound saying I’m “large for gestational size,” because most insurance policies have stopped covering ultrasounds. Can you believe that?

3. My blood pressure slipping down to its lovely, prenatal loveliness. Hello 110/70, I seem to only know you when I’m gestating.

4. Celebratory dinner from our bestie Erin. Bringing us Bastille Day Nicoise Salad – with nothing to clean up and everything to toast.

5. Finally relaxing with my life again. The anxiety seems to be at bay. Not sure why.

1. Pinot’s coat after a good grooming, she’s absolutely breathtaking.

2. All the laundry from the trip, done.

3. Deciding not to put the laundry away tonight. Not until tomorrow. We’re too tired.

4. A bowl of Lucky Charms with a bowl of cherries chaser.

5. Two Coke Zeros in one day. Two.
